A playful programme to help parents and carers enjoy engaging with their child’s learning and development.
The main aim for Early Years Practitioners is to support children to meet their full potential and set the foundations for a happy and successful life. Sometimes things happen that create barriers to achieving this.
Grow my Child is a programme designed to help practitioners reach out to parents who are struggling, provide a focus to support their difficulties, and above all, provide information about the EYFS to empower them to become involved in their child’s early development.
The programme is designed to run for around 12 weeks but could be more or less depending on the individual situation.
A Grow my Child poster is available to display in your Early Years Setting.
Key Person Guidance is available to support practitioners when engaging with reluctant or troubled parents and a step-by-step guide to lead them through the programme.
The programme consists of the following documents which are intended to be printed and shared with the parents:
- Aims (Can be printed or used online.)
- Parent Early Years Development Information Leaflet (2-sided document-fold in to 3, so tri-folded)
- Parent Action Plan (Word.doc can be used electronically if appropriate or printed)
- Baby Play Activities Leaflet (2-sided, fold in half)
- Play Activities Leaflet (2-sided, fold in half)
- Parents Evaluation (Word.doc can be used electronically if appropriate or printed)
