Provision Mapping

Provision maps show who is responsible for the delivery and monitoring progress for each intervention for children who need additional support. It includes a short description (the ‘how’) and when and where these interventions take place. The purpose is to provide a complete overview of SEND provision and how staff time and skills are utilised. This is important for SENCos, management, Ofsted and the local authority when deciding on whether additional funds are needed to support the necessary interventions. It shows the exact nature and aims of the various types of support on offer. It pulls together staff deployment and planning.

In this section you can access a basic format for a provision map and guidance on how to populate it with information on the support you provide for individual children with SEND.
