Working with babies

Welcome to our Working with Babies page.

With the introduction of 9month+ Government funding we have updated and created new resources which you can use to support your working with the youngest children.

These information sheets are available for practitioners working with babies and two-year-olds, and to share with parents. They are intended to prompt conversations with families and, when working with them, to support the key areas of development that are so important at this stage of a child’s development.

Sheet 1: Communication-sounds, music and songs

Sheet 2: Sensory play

Sheet 3: Playing together

Sheet 4: Stories, props and language development

Sheet 5: Being active and physical experiences

Baby Room Environments

Our ‘Ready for Babies’ resources can be used by settings who are considering offering places to under twos or settings that already offer this provision and want to reflect on practice or have staff new to working with babies.
