What is Wraparound childcare

A wraparound childcare provider is anyone who delivers wraparound provision. This can include schools, wraparound childcare organisations, early years childcare organisations and childminders.

Wraparound can be delivered onsite or offsite by the providers described above. Parents should not have to pick up/drop off children between school and childcare settings.

Wraparound care should be available before and after school, during term time usually from 8am – 6pm, Monday to Friday.

Parents will be expected to pay for wraparound.

Families can use Tax-Free Childcare or Universal Credit Childcare to help with costs.
