The Early Years and Childcare Service at Suffolk County Council has a duty to provide sufficient childcare. To help meet this duty the service works closely with the planning department to secure capital money from new housing development, where applicable.

Land or buildings may become available, which may be leased to childcare providers to provide good quality, accessible childcare to meet the needs of local families in Suffolk. From time to time other buildings may also become available.
