We aim to provide professional development opportunities that put the child are the heart of the learning and support them in their learning and development – understanding the uniqueness of childhood, the importance of childhood experiences and how these can positively impact on their lifelong chances. Our training will support practitioners in understanding practice that will make a real difference and ensure we offer opportunities for practitioners to build on their skills, knowledge and confidence.
We offer a good base of courses in the EYFS, Inclusion, SEND and Safeguarding and opportunities throughout the year to hear from a range of external speakers who can share their specialisms and current thought and practice.
We endeavour to plan training that considers the needs of the wide range of settings in the early years sector – childminders, group settings, schools and wraparound provision. We aim to make the courses as accessible as possible by varying days and timings, and including face to face, modular, virtual and online learning. We also consider what practitioners need at the different stages of their own learning.
The Early Years Foundation Stage Statutory Framework 2025 states:
“3.33 What practitioners know, plan for, and do matters for children’s learning, development, safety, and happiness in settings
Providers must support staff to undertake appropriate training and professional development opportunities to ensure they offer quality learning and development experiences for children that continually improves.“
