Policies and Guidance Documents

This is a list of model HR policies and guidance available for LA-maintained schools to use. Following these policies helps create a fair and consistent workplace while also providing important protection for both the school and the Local Authority from potential legal risks.

These policies have been discussed and agreed upon with unions, and schools are encouraged to adopt them. Where further consultation with staff may be needed before adopting a policy, this has been highlighted accordingly.

The LA and Schools’ Choice have been working on updating school policies. This Policy spreadsheet outlines the status of each policy. The spreadsheet will be updated when further information is available.
