Suffolk Mainstream Inclusion Framework

We are very grateful to all those colleagues in Suffolk schools who have helped to make the SMIF possible. The purpose of the SMIF is to guide all those working in schools to support children and young people with SEND as to what provision is expected and ‘ordinarily available’ in schools and classrooms, across all areas of need. There are many examples of this work across local authorities, and we have worked with Suffolk schools and professionals across the eastern region to develop the document linked above.

We would welcome your feedback as we now prepare the final version for the new academic year. Over the summer period we will be looking at the final presentation of the document. Your feedback is therefore important to us, including how you will use this in school to support your learners with SEND. Please provide feedback by Tuesday 9 July to [email protected] and [email protected]
