The Schools Accountancy Team provides statutory financial support to all maintained schools in Suffolk with financial aspects including:
- calculating school delegated funding
- school grant payments and administration
- year end accounting and guidance
- monitoring budgets
- challenging and supporting those in financial difficulties
- supporting consistent financial reporting (CFR)
- support other school financial returns such as SFVS, PCI/DSS, School Fund
We focus on ensuring that the distribution of funding to all Suffolk schools is on a fair basis and following the National Funding Formula. We also ensure schools work within the framework as set out by the DfE and that maintained schools appropriately apply their resources as prescribed in the Scheme for Financing Schools.
In the sections on these pages, you will find a range of documents which deal with the financing and financial management of schools maintained by Suffolk County Council as the Local Authority. Some of the documents will only be needed by schools very occasionally, others on a regular basis. Those within the school who have responsibility for financial matters, both governors and officers, will need to have a sound appreciation of the contents of the website, without necessarily having read every part of it. It should be more a case of understanding when there is a need to refer to the website and where within it the relevant information can be found.
