SEND Capital Programme – Phase 2

Following the success of Phase 1 of the SEND Capital Programme, which was implemented 3 years ago in order to create 100’s of new specialist educational places within Suffolk, we are pleased to announce that in the Autumn term we will be rolling out Phase 2 to continue with this huge development.
In Phase 1 Suffolk County Council, in partnership with a large number of mainstream and special schools, have built 23 new specialist units attached to primary and mainstream schools across Suffolk. In addition, three new schools are under development and our existing provision has been extended where possible.
Phase 2 will enable us to build further specialist units within Suffolk to support with growing need, and in the Autumn term of 2023 we would like to gain interest from mainstream schools who would like to become involved in this worthwhile programme to support children and young people, and their families, who require specialist provision.

Further information shall be shared in September, which will outline the unit requirements within Suffolk, the processes in place and the timeframes associated with this. If you have any questions in the meantime or would like to find out further information please contact Laura Greenland on 01473 263 581 or [email protected]
