Suffolk Libraries Launches Schools Fundraiser

Schools can partner with Suffolk Libraries by signing up for a Jubilee themed fundraiser running 23-27 May.

Suffolk Libraries SOS is a collaborative fundraiser designed to support both Suffolk Primary Schools and Suffolk Libraries.

Why do this?

Schools can not only celebrate the upcoming platinum Jubilee but can also raise funds both for their own reading resources and for the ongoing work of Suffolk Libraries.

What do we get?

You can register for a live online author talk with James Campbell on the 26th of May 2022 and will receive a printable pack of jubilee themed activities for all phases (EYFS through to KS2).

What are the events/activities involved?

The fundraising includes hosting a ‘dress as a king or queen for the day’ event (we have suggested lots of Royal themed titles in our activity pack to read during the event) and through an optional half-term sponsored reading challenge (70 pages for 70 years of the Queen’s reign).

Overdrive (Libby) have kindly donated a cash prize of £250 and this will be awarded to the school raising the most for Suffolk Libraries by the closing date of 17th June – the proportion of your fundraising donated to Suffolk Libraries is up to you, although we would suggest 50%.

We hope this project will provide a fun and easy way of celebrating the Jubilee, whilst engaging in reading.  Schools are encouraged to sign up early as places on the live author talk (which will be held on zoom) are limited.

The deadline for schools to sign up is 3rd May.
