Changes to Primary Pathways at the Raedwald Trust

We are writing to notify you of changes to the Springboard Pathway from September 2022 for pupils in Key Stages 1 and 2.

Please be advised that the on-site placement days for this pathway are changing.

From September 2022:

*Changes* Pathways available at Key Stage 1

Key Stage 1 Building Pathway and Next Steps Pathway will no longer be available.

Key Stage 1 Springboard Pathway will become a 19 week offer.

– Weeks 1 – 12: Pupils will attend their Raedwald Trust site 3 days each week and their on-roll mainstream school 2 days each week.

– Weeks 13 – 19: Pupils will attend their Raedwald Trust site 2 days each week and their on-roll mainstream school 3 days each week.

Your allocated Raedwald Trust school will liaise with you about which days will be in mainstream.

If pupils are accessing a part-time timetable at mainstream, it is expected that they will access a minimum of 2 hours each day in their home school, each week, and that this time will be increased over the duration of their placement with Raedwald Trust.

The placement length has increased to 19 weeks (from 12 weeks previously).  This is in response to stakeholder feedback and will allow longer targeted transition support. It is expected that in weeks 17 and 18 pupils will be accessing at least two full days at their mainstream setting and three full days in week 19. This will help to prepare them for a return to fulltime mainstream education in week 20.

This pathway alteration will enable pupils to retain a link with their mainstream setting during their placement with Raedwald Trust. It will also enable an outreach session to be delivered, by Raedwald Trust staff, with home schools each week. This will support mainstream colleagues with strategies and advice to enable inclusion for the children and young people we support.

*Changes* Pathways available at Key Stage 2

Key Stage 2 Springboard Pathway will no longer be available.

Key Stage 2 Building Pathway will remain a 19 week offer.

Purpose: To support pupil to succeed in their current mainstream school placement (pupils must have an on-roll mainstream school).

Pupil will attend a Raedwald Trust setting for a 19 week placement.

Weeks 1-15 : 4 days per week at Raedwald, 1 day in mainstream

Weeks 16 and 17 : 3 days per week at Raedwald, 2 days in mainstream

Weeks 18 and 9 : 2 days per week at Raedwald, 3 days in mainstream

During mainstream days, the pupil will attend at least 2 hours a day, increasing time in school (if applicable) over 19 weeks.

Outreach session will be delivered in mainstream setting for 1 hour a week

Supports personal, social and    emotional development alongside      behaviour concerns

This is a more intense intervention for pupils who likely will successfully reintegrate fulltime to mainstream.

EHCP not required for referral.
