National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Online Event: Health Research in Schools Stakeholder Event

Invitation for schools to join the NIHR Clinical Research Network virtual Health Research in Schools Stakeholder Event on Thursday 28th April 2022, between 3.30 – 5.30pm. The event will provide an opportunity to find out more about the benefits of health research in schools, have a say on shaping health research for children and young people in the future and get involved in health research projects.

The aim of the NIHR Clinical Research Network (CRN) is to deliver high quality clinical research trials across the East of England. Health research takes place in many different settings, including NHS Trusts, GP practices, care homes and schools.

The CRN team would like to start a conversation with schools about how we increase opportunities for children and young people to take part in health research in Suffolk.

We would like to invite head teachers, deputies, SEN leads and others with an interest in health and health research to take part in a virtual Health Research in Schools Stakeholder Event.  The event will take place on Thursday 28th April 2022, between 3.30 – 5.30pm online.

The event will be chaired by Anna Crispe, Consultant in Public Health and Assistant Director, Knowledge, Intelligence & Evidence, Suffolk County Council. There will be presentations from clinical researchers, to give you a flavour of the type of health research already being delivered in school settings. We will also be joined by Suffolk Health Watch who will tell us about the work they do with schools

The event will provide you with the opportunity to:

  • Discover more about health research in schools.
  • Find out about the benefits for children, families, carers, teachers and schools who get involved.
  • Help shape the type of health research offered to schools by telling us about your priorities.
  • Share your ideas on how schools should be kept up to date about research opportunities.
