Project grants to support children from military families

The Service Pupil Support Programme will award grants of £5,000 to £80,000 to projects supporting Service children along their educational pathway (aged 4-18 years). We can accept applications from: maintained schools, academies, free schools, sixth form and FE colleges, local authorities, and multi-academy Trusts.

We invite applications from local authorities, and schools in the UK which have children of currently serving Armed Forces personnel on roll. Service refers to Regular Forces or Reserves (Full-time Reserve Service).

This year, schools are encouraged to apply in clusters of three or more to design projects that meet one of three themes:

  • Closing the gap in attainment between Service and non-Service pupils.
  • Addressing the needs of Service pupils with additional needs.
  • Identifying and addressing the needs of small cohorts of Service pupils within educational settings.

This funding is for stand-alone projects lasting up to two years.

Applications close midday, 8 May 2024 and you’ll receive a decision by the end of June 2024.

Full details, including application guidelines and our funding priorities for this round, can be found on our website: Service Pupil support with new round of funding (covenantfund.org.uk)
