The Community and School-Aged Immunisation Service (CSAIS) providers are currently visiting all primary schools in the region to offer flu vaccination to children in Years reception to 6 (aged 4 to 10 years on 31 August 2022).
If a child misses a school session, either because they were off on the day of visit or they are not attending school for any reason, parents/carers should be advised to contact the CSAIS provider directly to arrange for vaccination in a scheduled community clinic.
Any child or young person who is in a clinical risk group is eligible to get the flu vaccination at their GP practice and should be advised to contact their GP directly.
Visits to secondary schools have been provisionally scheduled for later in the year pending vaccine supply.

Flu vaccination: who should have it this winter and why
This guidance explains to patients how they can help protect themselves and their children against flu this winter. It includes information for children, eligible adults and pregnant women, and details why it’s very important that people at increased risk from flu, or who care for someone vulnerable, to have their free vaccination every year.
