The induction tutor is an integral part of the statutory induction process and training is included in the cost of the Suffolk ECT Induction Service. It is recommended that induction tutors attend training at least every two years. It is a statutory responsibility of the headteacher or principal to ensure each ECT has an appropriately qualified and trained induction tutor (statutory guidance, revised April 2018, paragraph 5.3). A Welcome Session for ECTs is also included in the cost of Suffolk ECT Induction Service and is an important part of their statutory induction. Induction tutor training and ECT Welcome Sessions impact positively on ECTs and the development of the teaching workforce in Suffolk.
