The Suffolk TA Network annual conference 2024 will take place on Wednesday 16 October at Trinity Park Conference and Events Centre, Ipswich, between 9.00 and 15.00 on the theme of Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD), specifically dyslexia and dyscalculia.
Bookings for the conference can be made via Suffolk CPD at a cost to schools of £15 per participant.
The conference will open with a keynote speech by Arran Smith, entitled ‘What is Assistive Technology?’. This will be followed by a series of SpLD themed workshops and the conference will end with a panel discussion with a selection of specialist speakers. All participants will attend the keynote, panel discussion and one of the ‘How TAs can support Class Teachers effectively using the Judith Carter: The 4 Functions of Learning Support’ sessions and then will choose their other sessions from the range available on a first come first served basis.
Arran Smith is a dyslexic entrepreneur and the founder of the SEND Group and Dyslexia Show. He is a specialist in dyslexia, accessibility, assistive technology and digital transformation. Arran has worked in many industries including youth work, retail business and the not-for-profit sector. Arran has worked within the dyslexia sector for over 15 years which included being Microsoft’s UK SEND and Dyslexia Consultant.
