Following several requests from schools, as a service we reached out to families who use English as an additional language. We circulated a survey to ask how they are currently supported and what they would like from our service. Following the results from the survey we:
- Considered how to reach out to families with English as an additional language.
- Worked closely with schools to find out how the service could reach families with English as an additional language.
- Explored translating our publicity, incorporating ‘what is SEN’ and co–produced this with settings and providers across Suffolk.
We have produced some information that has been translated in to nine common languages. The fact sheet and postcards explain what SEN is, and how our service can help. These resources are now available to view and download from our website and can be found here:
The resources are printable and include a QR code to our website making them ideal to display around schools and settings.
Lastly, we would like to say thank you to the schools, settings and providers who have supported us in this piece of work.
