Expression of Interest (EOI) Wraparound childcare project

A wraparound childcare provider is anyone who delivers wraparound provision. This can include private, voluntary and independent organisations, schools, childminders, and other early years providers.

The national wraparound childcare programme is part of the childcare reforms announced at the 2023 Spring Budget. The government’s ambition is that by September 2026, all parents and carers of primary school-aged children who need it will be able to access term time childcare in their local area Monday to Friday from 8am-6pm, so that parents can work.

We are starting to develop wraparound provision and have some grant funding available to support providers where this is needed.

If you are looking to expand an existing offer to include more children or make your offer compliant with the Governments ambition, or if you are interested in setting up wraparound provision then we are inviting you to submit an expression of interest (EOI) for a wraparound project. This will be considered against supply and demand data and the Governments funding guidance.

The initial deadline to submit an EOI is Friday 17 May 2024.

If your project meets the requirements and is in an area of need you will then be required to complete a formal application form. The formal application will be sent to the person listed as main contact in this EOI. Wraparound project – expression of interest form
