Suffolk has a new Kooth engagement lead available for schools to contact for emotional wellbeing support and digital resources

Kooth provides British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy accredited services for 11-25 year olds in Suffolk, Norfolk and Waveney.

Kooth CYP is a commissioned online counselling service providing a free, safe and non-judgemental place for young people to connect with others and know they are not alone. They have instant access to self-help materials, live moderated discussion forums and tools such as online journals and goal trackers.

Young people can also contribute written pieces of work reflecting their own experiences, as well as accessing drop-in or booked sessions with professional counsellors from 12pm-10pm weekdays and 6pm-10pm weekends. The sessions are completely anonymous and a fantastic way for young people to get the help and support they need, with no long waiting times or referral processes.

Suffolk now has a new Kooth engagement lead, Chloe Symeou, who is looking to link up with schools to offer them the following support:

  • Staff awareness information sessions which could form part of your staff meetings to give a full picture of our services – who we are, what support pathways can be accessed and how to signpost to the young people, parents and carers you are working with.
  • Kooth School Assemblies to explain exactly who we are, what support is available and how to sign up.
  • A variety of digital Resources which you can use on your website/social media or as you see fit.
