English as an additional language

The Standards and Excellence team run an English as an additional language (EAL) Network and welcome all Suffolk schools to join and be part of this.  It gives valuable opportunities to share good practice and resources, discuss issues as they arise, have input from our EAL Specialist Leaders in Education and also from guest speakers at various points throughout the year. Sally Swann, Regional Lead for Education and Katie Magill, GRT Liaison Officer, look forward to welcoming you.

Network dates 2024-2025

EAL Network Meetings will take place half termly throughout the year on the following dates:

  • 9 October 2024
  • 30 January 2025
  • 29 April 2025
  • 9 July 2025

All at the usual time of 3.45pm – 5.15pm.

It is an opportunity to discuss topical issues, share challenges, successes and provide support to each other. Guest speakers also attend on a needs basis.

We would especially like to encourage colleagues from schools who have not attended before.
