This is a reminder that schools are asked by the Suffolk Safeguarding Partnership (SSP) to complete a safeguarding self-assessment audit annually. The audit is mandatory and supports schools to fulfil the statutory requirement to provide information to the Local Authority as to how they are discharging their safeguarding duties.
This year’s assessment will be going live this week. The link to the live survey will be added to the safeguarding page of Suffolk Learning: Safeguarding self-assessment – Suffolk Learning
A Word version of the audit is available on the same page and we would recommend that you save or print a copy of this so you can review your evidence base for the questions in advance of completing the live submission form. We would ask that all schools complete the live submission form as any other formats will not be included in the analysis and report to the SSP.
The deadline for completion is Friday 9 June 2023.
The scoring classification is different this year and we are asking schools to review safeguarding arrangements and practice against the SSP ‘expectations’ document that was issued to schools in 2020.
We would appreciate it if you would draw this to the attention of your Designated Safeguarding Lead and nominated safeguarding governor.
