This is a reminder that schools are asked by the Suffolk Safeguarding Partnership (SSP) to complete a safeguarding self-assessment audit annually. The audit is mandatory and supports schools to fulfil the statutory requirement to provide information to the Local Authority as to how they are discharging their safeguarding duties.
This year’s assessment is due to go live week commencing 15 May 2023 so please do look out for the link in Headlines that week.
The link to the live audit will be on the safeguarding page of Suffolk Learning. We will be putting a Word version of the audit on the page too and would recommend that you save or print a copy of this so you can review your evidence base for the questions in advance of completing the live submission form.
The scoring classification is different this year and we are asking schools to review safeguarding arrangements and practice against the SSP ‘expectations’ document that was issued to schools in 2020.
Expectations of the Independent Chair of the Suffolk Safeguarding Partnership Board
We would appreciate it if you would draw this to the attention of your Designated Safeguarding Lead and nominated safeguarding governor.
