You are cordially invited to attend our conference for Designated Teachers and other professionals supporting children in care, taking place on Tuesday 13 June 2023 at Trinity Park, Ipswich.
With the theme, ‘The Transformative Power of Learning’, the day focuses on looking at how learning is not just a protective factor for our children but also has the power to change their lives.
Our two keynote speakers are both care experienced and are now running organisations which help to empower children in care and care leavers. Scott King is the founder of Section 31 and Luke Rodgers is the founder of The Care Leaders.
In addition, Simon Glenister, founder of Noise Solution, will be presenting a session about self-determination theory, a framework that empowers a person through their ability to make choices and manage their own life, and how we can use this approach with the children and young people with whom we work.
There will be opportunities to discuss key issues with other Designated Teachers and other professionals throughout the day. There will also be a marketplace with a wide range of stallholders who already work with Suffolk children who will be able to share their work and its impact with you.
This event is free of charge. refreshments and a light lunch will be provided.
