Following the success of the last Emotional Wellbeing Festival in May 2022 which invited mental health leads and pupils from schools in East and West Suffolk to attend to find out about information and resources to support their mental wellbeing, Suffolk County Council’s Children & Young People’s Engagement Hub Team, and Suffolk & North East Essex ICB have decided to host another festival in May 2023.
The next festival will be for schools based in West Suffolk to attend. We will be inviting school mental health leads and pupils from Years 7 and 8.
To help us organise workshops to deliver to schools and students at the 2023 emotional wellbeing festival we are holding a focus group session for young people to join to help us brainstorm ideas for what they would like to see at the festival.
The focus group session will be on Microsoft Teams on Thursday 12 January at 4pm to 5pm.
Young people can register their interest and book a place via our Eventbrite Page here.
Young people who would like to be involved but can’t attend the focus group can still give their feedback by emailing: [email protected]
Please share this news with any young person who you know is passionate about emotional wellbeing support for young people in Suffolk and would like to share their views and experiences. We would love for them to come along to our focus group to help us plan for this special event.
We also welcome thoughts and ideas from teachers and mental health leads for what topics/information that they would like covered at the festival. Please email these to us at: [email protected]
The aims and objectives of the Emotional Wellbeing Festival 2023 event will be to:
• Provide a fun, inspirational and informative day of workshops, practical tips and activities that support young people’s mental wellbeing.
• Opportunity for mental health leads and young people to network with different schools to share best practice.
• To take back emotional wellbeing resources to support your school and share with others.
• Meet organisations and service providers who deliver mental health support services to young people in Suffolk.
