Before you register with Ofsted
Read the information on setting up a Childminding Business in Suffolk
Anyone wishing to become an Ofsted registered childminder ‘must have completed training which helps them to understand and implement the EYFS before they can register with Ofsted or a childminder agency’
This now means that the prospective childminder needs to judge whether they feel they have the knowledge, skills and competencies to fulfil this.
First Aid
It is important that all Childminders have their Paediatric First Aid qualification before registering with Ofsted. For more information please look at the Paediatric First Aid page.
If you decide you wish to undertake a course, you can do an internet search and find out what courses are suitable. Professional Association for Childcare and the Early Years (PACEY), may be useful to review.
