All schools | Virtual HR Bitesize Training – Single Central Record Course (SCR) | Schools’ Choice | Thursday 19 September 2024 (9:30-11:30am)

It is often said that safeguarding begins with ensuring the required checks have been undertaken on all trusted adults who come into our schools. This course goes through what checks are required for employees, workers and visitors. It also covers what you should expect from your agency staff and contractors and how all these checks should be recorded. Finally, it covers how to audit your single central record and what you should do if you find information is missing.

Please note that this is not a safer recruitment training course. Each school should continue to ensure that at least one person on a recruitment panel is safer recruitment trained.

This is an additional date released for all schools to assist with their SCR. This training will be taking place on Thursday 19 September 2024, 9:30-11:30am.

Is there a child you are worried about? Do you wonder what the atmosphere is like in their family environment?

Everyone has arguments from time to time, they are a normal part of family life and relationships. Children who are around adults who shout loudly, argue a lot or ignore each other often, don’t see and learn how to resolve conflict in a healthy way. A stable family environment (whether parents and carers are together or not) is key to delivering the best outcomes for children and young people. As part of Suffolk County Council (SCC) strategy to reduce parental conflict, Suffolk parents are now able to access free digital resources to help support and improve communication within their relationship.

The digital offer developed by OnePlusOne includes:

  • Me You Baby Too – For new and expectant parents to help parents adapt to the changes that parenthood can have on their relationship.
  • Arguing Better – For parents experiencing high levels of stress and couple conflict.
